ROCHESTER — A solar array on Sarah Sherman Road will move ahead after the Planning Board approved a special permit and Groundwater Protection District for the project on Sept. 8. 

Greg Carey with Clean Energy out of Auburn first approached the board in March and began the formal hearing process in May for a 4.1 acre array on a 27 acre parcel of land.  

The one megawatt array will only require one acre of clearing.
