Rochester Police establish satellite station at Rochester Memorial School

ROCHESTER — On-duty Rochester Police Officers will now have a designated office space to work within Rochester Memorial School.
The initiative is meant to “provide an extra measure of safety and security for students and staff during the school day.”
“A safe and secure environment in school is our top priority,” said Superintendent Michael Nelson.
The satellite office will not always be occupied and the officers in the office will not be involved with day-to-day school operations but are present in case of an emergency.
“We’re happy to do anything we can to further bolster the safety and security of our community’s youngest members,” said Rochester Police Chief Michael Assad.
