Rochester police, fire respond to head-on collision
Police and fire officials responded to a head-on collision near 173 Braley Hill Road Friday evening.
Two vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred around 4:30 p.m. Rochester Police Chief Paul Magee identified the drivers as Kelly Sullivan-Morgado of Rochester and Jodi Acevedo of Acushnet.
Magee said Acevedo lost control of her vehicle likely due to slippery road conditions. Both drivers were transported to Tobey Hospital, but it appears neither suffered serious injuries, Magee said.
The front end of Sullivan-Morgado's vehicle, a Mini Cooper, was badly damaged and the driver's side door was missing.
At the time of the accident dense fog limited visibility. Roads were slick due to a light rain and patches of ice had started to form on some streets as the temperature dropped.
