ROCHESTER — A solar canopy that would be installed above the rear parking lot of Rochester Memorial School moved another step towards construction on Thursday, Dec. 2 after the Rochester School Committee voted to approve a contract for the project.

The contract will be made with Select Energy and the document has been reviewed by Town Counsel Blair Bailey, according to Superintendent Michael Nelson.

Residents of Rochester voted to give the town permission to enter into the contract at the Special Town Meeting in November.
