Rochester welcomes psychic fair

Oct 27, 2012

A little clairvoyance goes a long way for the Rochester Council on Aging.

On Saturday, the Council on Aging hosted its first ever psychic fair as part of an ongoing effort to raise funds to construct an addition to the building for a senior  day program.

Throughout the day, guests sat for psychic readings, shopped the nearby vendor tables and enjoyed a lot of homemade  food.

All in all, Council on Aging director Sharon Lally said she was thrilled with the success of the event that raised more than $1,000.

The fair was just one of the many fundraisers organized by the Friends of the Senior Center. Since last year, Lally said the group has raised roughly half of the needed $245,000 to begin building the addition.

This Saturday, the Friends will host a pulled pork dinner at the Council on Aging from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

With each event, Lally said, the Council on Aging gets one step closer to its goal. “Slowly but surely we are getting there,” Lally said.
