Roland G. Adams, 76

Roland G. Adams, 76 of Rochester, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 25, after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Mary F. (Lotti) Adams for 42 years.

Born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Bernard and Shirley (Adams) Schnyer, grandson of the late Elise and George Adams and Cecile and George Schnyer. He is also predeceased by his brother and sisters Milton B. Adams, Dana Adams, Louise Willet, Pauline Singleton, Sheila Ford and Irene “Auntie” Adams.

Roland served in the US Army, 82 nd Airborne division from 1961-1963. He was a self-employed iron worker and the proud owner of Gateway Steel Erection Company with his partner John Folino. Roland developed and manufactured The Roofing Transporter Machine and innovative piece of equipment that revolutionized laying metal sheeting roof materials.

Roland is survived by his wife, Mary, daughters Kimberley (Bruce) Thompson, Jacqui (Jeff) Watt, Lisa (Eric) Soper and Andrea Gomes as well as his nephew Mikey Adams. He also leaves behind his brother Steven Schnyer and sisters Arlene Longo and Cathy Provenzano.

When not enjoying time with his family, Roland was an avid antique car enthusiast and could usually be found tinkering with and restoring cars in his garage. He loved his grandchildren, his dogs Stuart Little and Sheldon and the Boston Red Sox!
