Route 195 East reopens after vehicle crash

An automobile rollover on Route 195 East closed the North Street entrance to the highway and closed both lanes of 195 East, said officials.

According to the Marion Fire Department Facebook page, roads reopened around 3 p.m.

The rollover occurred around 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 near the Marion town line, according to a press release from the Town of Mattapoisett.  

Both lanes of 195 East were closed to allow firefighters to clean the area and lift the overturned vehicles, read a Facebook post by the Mattapoisett Fire Department.

According to comments from motorists on the Mattapoisett Fire Department’s Facebook page, traffic was backed up to Fairhaven while the road was cleared. 

There were no injuries, said a spokesperson for the Mattapoisett Fire Department.  

The cause of the rollover is currently unknown.
