The Mattapoisett Historical Society is offering two events to get kids through the dog days of summer.

Rubber Duckies
On Saturday, August 11, the Society will host Rubber Duckies for ages 3 to 5 at 1:30 p.m. Join us for stories, games and crafts, and to learn a little bit about Mattapoisett’s own Rubber Duck factory.

Sweets for the Sweet
The Society will also host Sweets for the Sweet on Thursday, August 16 for children entering grades 4 to 6. Find out all about what kinds of candy people used to eat, and then perform your own taste test of candies from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s.  Sweets for the Sweet starts at 1:30 p.m.

Both events are located at the Mattapoisett Museum and Carriage House at 5 Church Street and are free, but space is limited. To make a reservation and for more information, call 508-758-2844.
