WAREHAM- Sandra Jeanine Hammond, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 3,2025,at the age of 83 at Sippican Health Care Center in Marion, Massachusetts.

 Sandra was born on August 31, 1941, in Rochester, Massachusetts. She graduated from New Bedford High School in 1959. She was the daughter of the late Carolyn R. Tirrell and Kenneth A. Tirrell, and sister to the late Carol E. Tirrell and James F. Taylor. She was married for 60 years to the love of her life, the late Kenneth B. Hammond. She was a devoted mother to her daughters Cheryl Ann and Shelby Jean, and a cherished grandmother to Lynsey Price and George Smith.

As a young woman, she was an avid horsewoman, riding and entering many horse shows. She was also a passionate gardener. Her gardens were the envy of most, and every spring her yard came alive with color and beauty. She will be remembered for her famous Thanksgiving Day pies, which were always a source of comfort and joy, and her handmade quilts. Sandra enjoyed many trips to Walt Disney World with her family, and she loved taking road trips, both near and far, in their motorhome.

Her survivors include her children: Cheryl H. Weston of Carver, Massachusetts, and her husband Gary; Shelby J Smith of Orlando, Florida, and her husband, Edward; her grandchildren: Lynsey Price and husband Jason of Pocasset, Massachusetts; George Smith and his partner, Darren Gantt of New York; her beloved great-grandsons, Jerard and Jackson Price; her many nieces and nephews; and finally, her beloved Shih tzu Callie.

"She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in our hearts”.
