School Committee announces assistant principals for ORRHS, ORRJHS

May 22, 2019

Old Rochester Regional High School and Junior High School will hire a Marion and a Dartmouth woman to start assistant principal positions in July. The two principals stopped in to a May 22 Old Rochester Regional School Committee meeting to introduce themselves.

Vanessa Harvey lives in Marion and has served as assistant principal at Freetown-Lakeville middle school since 2016. Prior to that, she taught Spanish.

“It’s been a hard week telling my staff that I’m not coming back next year. But they have just been saying so many positive things about this district. I moved to town three years ago, and I would like to retire from here, if you’ll have me for that long,” Harvey said.

Dartmouth resident Kelly Chouinard will take the assistant principal position at Old Rochester Regional Junior High School when current Principal Kevin Brogioli retires and current Assistant Principal Silas Coellner moves up to take his place.

Chouinard currently serves as assistant principal at Brennan Middle School in Attleboro. Before that role, she taught English.

In her remarks to the school committee Chouinard addressed her leadership style, saying that she values “communication with students and with parents. I’m looking forward to getting to know people.”
