ROCHESTER — Students at Rochester Memorial School recently had special visitor: A robot named Spot.
Spot was accompanied by Kevin Garell of Boston Dynamics on their Jan. 27 visit.
With assistance from his son Gavin, Garell showed off some of Spot's "training" and capabilities.
The demonstration was a culmination of a series of projects during which sixth grade students took on a challenge from NASA to design robotic devices with very specific functions.
The visit and associated lessons were coordinated by grade 6 teachers Tracey Forns, James Della Cioppa, Forrest Cote and grade 3 teacher Michael Forns.
