Senior citizen work-off program applications available, info session Oct. 10

Applications for the Senior Citizen Property Tax Work-Off Program are now available. This program allows Mattapoisett seniors older than 60 to perform services for the town in exchange for a maximum $750 reduction on Mattapoisett taxes for property that they own and occupy.

The Council on Aging will hold an informational session for this new program on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. at17 Barstow St. It is open to all Mattapoisett seniors.

Applications are available online at the town’s website, mattapoisett-ma.gov, under the COA section. Hard copy applications may also be picked up in person at the Council on Aging and the Town Clerk’s Office at Town Hall. The application will contain a summary of the eligibility requirements for program participation and will be accompanied by an information package.

All applications must be turned in to the Council on Aging office by 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18. Anyone with questions may call Jacqueline Coucci, Council on Aging director, at 508-758-4110.
