Jan 6, 2017

The movie “Shane” will be shown at the Music Hall on Friday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. This is sponsored by the Sippican Historical Society and the Marion Council on Aging.

“Shane” is a 1953 western featuring a mysterious gunslinger passing through a small Wyoming village. Along the way he befriends a farmer, his wife and their young son. The family quickly adopts Shane and deep relationships develop. The story becomes complicated because there is a major fight brewing between the farmers and the rich and powerful rancher who wants to re-open the land for his cattle at the expense of the settlers who wish to retain their small farms. The difficulties are resolved in an action packed ending.

There is no charge for the movie, and free popcorn will be served. David Pierce will lead the discussion portion at the movie’s conclusion.
