A shellfishing ban issued by the Division of Marine Fisheries earlier this month has been officially lifted as of noon today.

The ban, due to a toxic algae bloom, encompassed all of Buzzard Bay and prohibited the harvesting of all shellfish except whelks, bay scallops and sea scallops.
