Shop home businesses at Shipyard Park

Jul 4, 2017

This year, there's something new coming to the Harbor Days tent.

Shopping at Shipyard is a new opportunity for stay-at-home moms to showcase their businesses and products.

"I had a friend who started selling Lularoe," explained organizer Jennifer Haley. "The big tent is sometimes empty, why not give these women the opportunity to meet with customers?"

There are currently 15 vendors lined up to sell their wares on Sunday, although Haley says she is still willing to take more.

A number of the vendors are consultants for major companies, offering sales and in-home parties for various companies. Current vendors include:

  • Lularoe: women's clothing
  • Norwex: Chemical-free household supplies
  • ThiryOne: Personalized gifts
  • Pampered Chef: kitchen and bakeware
  • Traveling Vineyard: Wine and in-house wine tastings.
  • LipSense: personalized cosmetics

In addition, some of the vendors have created their own business out of their homes. Creatives by Kendra, run by Kendra Chase (www.creativesbykendra.com), takes clay scraps and uses them to make personalized bracelets, necklaces and vases.

The event is not officially a part of Harbor Days, but the Haley said that money raised from the event will go to the Lion's Club. She is charging $50 per table, and expects to be able to add $700 or so to the Lion's Club's overall earnings from Harbor Days.

Shopping at Shipyard will take place on Sunday, July 9 from 2-4 p.m. at Shipyard Park in Marion.
