May 8, 2020

MARION — The Sippican Historical Society is recruiting volunteers for a variety of activities, including gardening, leading tours, planning talks or planning fundraising events.

Those interested in is learning about Marion’s history, hosting a summer tea in the Memorial Garden, leading tours of historic homes, planning educational talks for our Speaker Series,
designing window displays, or throwing a great fundraising party, should contact the Historical Society at info@sippicanhistoricalsociety.org.

Social distancing is still required, but many of the group’s activities are currently in the planning stages, and are held remotely by phone, email, or Zoom.

The Sippican Historical Society has helped to save the post office, the Marion General Store, Brown’s Pharmacy (now Kate’s Simple Eats), and the Captain Hadley House. It continues to preserve the manuscript and material history of Marion and the stories of her people in its museum and archives.
