MARION — The Sippican Historical Society is seeking applicants for its annual Judith Westlund Rosbe History Scholarship. The scholarship was established to promote the mission of the Sippican Historical Society: to preserve three centuries of Marion’s unique history and build community by fostering an interest in its cultural and architectural legacy.

The $1,250 scholarship is awarded annually to a senior at Old Rochester Regional High School who lives in Marion and hopes to study history at the college/university level. Eligible applicants should submit a  paper, with a minimum of 800 words, or project on a historical topic. Evidence of research in the Sippican Historical Society archives is particularly desirable. Local history topics are especially interesting to the scholarship committee.

Applicants should also submit a recommendation from an ORR history teacher and a completed information form that can be found at sippicanhistoricalsociety.org.

Applications for the 2022 Judith W. Rosbe History Scholarship must be received by May 16 and may be sent through mail at Sippican Historical Society, 141 Front St., Marion MA 02738 or by email at info@sippicanhistoricalsociety.org.
