Snacks from the Brownies for Rochester’s first responders

Jun 10, 2021

ROCHESTER -- Rochester Brownie Troop 70840 spent their first community service day of 2021 making care packages for the town’s first responders.

The troop put together baskets with snacks and other supplies donated by the Rochester Women’s Club for fire, police and EMS workers in town.

The Scouts also got the chance to talk to Rochester’s first responders, and made signs to show their appreciation.

“The girls got to chat them up a little bit and present them their gifts,” Troop Leader Kimberly Bee said.

The Brownies, who are all between the ages of five and eight, were enthralled to see and meet some of Rochester’s first responders -- and be able to participate in activities other than outdoor socially-distant meetings.

“If you could’ve seen the joy on those girls’ faces,” Bee said, “the excitement was back.”
