MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Land trust will hold two screenings for a cause on Wednesday April 17 at 3 and 6 p.m. The cause is reducing single-use plastics use, and it hopes to begin that process by showing Linda Booker’s “Straws.”

The film will be screened at the Mattapoisett Free Library and a panel discussion on community plastic use will take place after the viewing.

“We are so pleased to screen this film,” said Mary Cabral, Board Member of the Mattapoisett Land Trust. “Bringing our community together to watch Straws will undoubtedly inspire people to change their personal use of straws and other single use plastics, while also encouraging dialogue with businesses and community leaders.”

With colorful straw history animation and segments narrated by Oscar winner Tim Robbins, “Straws,” a 33 minutes documentary uses humor to tackle a serious problem. It also illustrates how individuals, groups, business owners and leaders around the globe are reducing plastic straw use.

The viewing is free, but seating is limited.  Please RSVP at 774-377-9191 or email info@mattlandtrust.org.
