Spring programs at the Marion Natural History Museum
The Marion Natural History Museum has a number of programs scheduled for this spring. They are:
Composting
Kids can get a lesson on composting April 9 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Did you know you can make soil healthier? This class explores what goes into a compost pile, and how you can make your “dirt” better.
Spring thaw
Finally, spring is here! Children will investigate signs-of-life, both animal and plant, that can be seen now that the winter is officially over. Specimens will be available for handling so dress accordingly. This lesson takes place on April 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Boat trip to Bird Island
The annual trip to Bird Island with the Harbormaster’s office is set for April 30 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This program is very popular so register early to get a spot. Bring hats, waterproof coats, and sensible shoes. The trip is subject to change if the waves are too high.
The cost for all programs - unless otherwise noted - is $4 for members and $6 for nonmembers. To find out how to register for these programs visit the museum website www.marionmuseum.org.
