MATTAPOISETT — Start or expand your garden with herbs, vegetables and flowers, or enjoy refreshments at a lemonade stand all while supporting a local organization.
On Saturday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Red Oak Garden will hold a plant sale in the parking lot between Ying Dynasty and What the Taco.
All proceeds from the plant sale will benefit the Red Oak Garden, which is part of Helping Hands and Hooves, a Mattapoisett-based therapeutic horseback riding and gardening program.
Garden members are friends and neighbors of all ages and backgrounds.
“The group strives to cultivate healthy soil and nutritious produce as they study and learn from nature’s wisdom,” a Red Oak Garden press release said. “This season, as the group experiments with growing new vegetables and flowers, they will continue to share their harvest with the wider Southcoast community.”
Garden members have started herb, vegetable and annuals from seed. Local perennials and natural garden trellises will also be for sale. Cash or check payments will be accepted.
