State police investigate Marion car chase

Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Bourne attempted to stop a motor vehicle on Route 195 eastbound in Marion on February 22 at 2:05 p.m.

The vehicle ignored the cruiser’s lights and siren and began to speed up according to the State Police. The pursuit reached speeds up to 95 mph while white objects were thrown from the vehicle until the vehicle exited on Route 105 in Marion.

The pursuit was ended due to State Police policy in regard to public safety. The vehicle was stopped a short time later and held by the Wareham Police. The operator was questioned by troopers and was determined not to be the operator who fled the initial stop. The vehicle was towed and an investigation is pending.
