Students explore science, reading at Plumb Library

Feb 23, 2019

As school vacation drew to a close and parents were perhaps looking for a way to keep kids entertained, Joseph H. Plumb Memorial library stepped in to offer science and reading-based activities.

The Feb. 22 Science at the Library activity explored pressure and suction. The Junior Friends of Plumb Library planned the science activities for the day. Participants used a variety of tools to transfer water from one container to another. They also explored suction and how a vacuum works by getting suction cups to stick together.

Afterwards, Amos the therapy greyhound visited the library. His owner, Holly Langenfeld, read books with children, before the children took turns reading to Amos.
