Taber library to hold book sales, camps, lectures

MARION — The Elizabeth Taber Library will host book sales, lectures and camps for all ages in July. 

The library will be at Silvershell Beach every Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m. with books to borrow or buy.

Every other Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. starting on July 9 the library will host Docu-Tuesdays, showing a documentary on a different subject and providing light refreshments. 

Heather Hobler from Anchor Yoga in Mattapoisett will lead outdoor yoga sessions. The sessions will coincide with the library’s Thursday Lunch Bunch sessions from July 11 to Aug. 1 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.  Parents are welcome to attend. Sign up at the library and bring a yoga mat. 

The library will also host a 3D Print Camp, where patrons can learn how to design and print things with an Ultimaker 3 3D printer. The camp is open
to ages 10 and up. Participants must attend all three sessions on July 11, 18 and 25 from 2 to 3 p.m. 

The Elizabeth Taber Library will host its summer book sale on July 26 to 28. The sale includes books, audiobooks, puzzles, CDs, DVDs, and more. The sale will take place Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Marion Music Hall. The library is still accepting donations for the sale.

Jill Sandford from Art for Your Mind takes will present a lecture on July 30 on how art and its meanings have evolved. Those interested in attending the 6 p.m. lecture should sign up at the library. 

The library will also use the music hall for a “Don’t try this at home” Mad Science Show on Wednesday, July 3 at 2 p.m.

Later in the month, Author Michelle Cusolito will present about ALVIN, the deep sea submarine at the Music Hall on July 24 at 2 p.m. Cusolito will also be available to sign her book.
