Tabor to showcase innovation among other strengths

Dec 21, 2018

MARION — On Jan. 19, Tabor Academy will host their annual winter open house, which has typically focused on arts and athletics but will expand this year to showcase Tabor’s technological innovations to prospective students and their families.

“Tabor is well known for our strong programs in arts, music, and athletics, but we hope to shine a spotlight on another area of our program that we are less publicly known for, our
burgeoning Maker’s Lab. Over the last few years, our courses in engineering and computer science have made the Maker Lab a hub of activity and innovation, and one of our most popular offerings,” said Kerry Saltonstall, Director of Communications.

During the open house prospective students are invited to meet coaches, watch a rehearsal of the winter musical, “Heathers: The Musical,” and/or create an art project in the Braitmayer
Arts Center. Prospective students can also take the opportunity to watch Tabor athletic teams compete later in the afternoon.

Director of Enrollment Marketing Laura Burgess added, “Learning about the programs and the people who will be part of your experience outside the classroom is an essential
component of the secondary school search process. Often, students are able to maximize their success and experience within the classroom when their experience in all other
aspects of their life on campus is happy and filled with robust opportunities and strong mentorship and friendship.”

Registration for the event will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interested students may view the schedule or register in advance at: https://www.taboracademy.org/page/arts-athletics-
