The Mattapoisett Free Public Library will host a jewelry making session from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The workshop will be led by jewelry designer Robin Ragle-Davis. The session will focus on techniques used to make bead bracelets and earrings and will cover a number of different string and cord options as well as a variety of closures and how to attach them properly and securely.

Tools, closures, and beads will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring any special beads they would like to use. The workshop is limited to the first twelve people who register. No drop-ins will be allowed. Call the library at 508-758-4171 to register.

A native Japanese speaker will be at the library from 1 to 1:30 p.m., and a Spanish session will take place on Feb. 2 from 2 to 2:30 p.m

Take a “Superb-Owl” walk.

The Sippican Lands Trust will host a “Superb-Owl” Walk in honor of Super Bowl Sunday at the Hagemann Woods property in Marion.

The walk in the woods will start at 4 p.m. and end by 5:30 p.m. to give attendees time to watch the Super Bowl.

The parking area for Hagemann Woods is located off of Point Road approximately two miles south of the intersection of Route 6 and Point Road in Marion.

The walk is free for members with a suggested $5 donation for non-members. Headlamps or flashlights are suggested for the walk back to the parking area.

If the Superb-Owl Walk is canceled due to inclement weather, information will be posted to the lands trust’s website and Facebook page. For more information about this walk contact  info@sippicanlandstrust.org, call 508-748-3080, or visit www.sippicanlandstrust.org.

The walk will go through heavily forested areas that are home to owls. Although hearing the owls can’t be guaranteed, owls are often more active during the evening because it is their nesting time.
