Friday, Aug. 8
Music from Land’s End
Featuring the music of Beethoven and Mendelssohn, Music from Land’s End is coming to Marion to perform “Iconic Piano Trios.”
Music From Land’s End is an annual concert series sponsored by the Wareham Cultural Council, bringing chamber music concerts that showcase “internationally acclaimed artists” to the South Coast.
The concerts are free for all attendees, with a donation recommended upon entrance to the show.
The upcoming Marion concert will take place on Friday, August 8 at 7 p.m. in St. Gabriel’s Church, featuring a performance by pianist Gideon Rubin, violinist Ariadne Daskalakis and cellist Paige Riggs.

Marion Concert Band
For their Friday, Aug. 8 concert the Marion Concert Band will present a Latin American festival of music.
The program will include music from Mexico, Spain, Brazil and the Caribbean, as well as familiar songs that demonstrate the influence that Latin American music styles have had on American popular music.
The free concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the Island Wharf and the audience is encouraged to wear tropical or Latin American attire.
Saturday, Aug. 9
A gouda time
The Hot Club Cheese Roll band is coming to the Mattapoisett Museum this August and the time’s now to purchase tickets.
Inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grappelli of The Hot Club of France, the Hot Club Cheese Roll plays a mic of jazz standards and more contemporary hits interpreted in the gypsy jazz and hot club style.
The concert will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Mattapoisett Museum, located at 5 Church Street.

Tuesday, Aug. 12
Rochester Night Out
The Rochester Police Department is throwing Rochester’s Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the ball fields at Dexter Lane next to the Rochester Police Department. There will be face painting, K9 demos, dunk tanks and more.
