MATTAPOISETT — Three new cases of covid-19 were reported in the Old Rochester Regional School District on Nov. 30 at the high school, junior high school, and Center School in Mattapoisett, bringing the total case count in the district to 26 since the start of the school year in September.

Those who tested positive are all out of school and have been quarantining.

Contact tracing is in progress and anyone within six feet of those who tested positive for more than 15 minutes will be notified and followed by the Board of Health.

All schools were open as they normally are on Dec. 1 at the recommendation of the Mattapoisett Board of Health.

Superintendent Nelson and Mattapoisett officials continue to urge all families and residents to remain vigilant about social distancing, wearing masks when in public and practicing proper hygiene. If parents or students are experiencing symptoms of coronavirus, the district asks to keep their children home.
