MATTAPOISETT — Old Rochester Regional High School seniors Dante M. Cusolito, Ari Hartley, and Rachel M. Perry have been named “Commended Students” in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Principal MIchael Devoll will present a letter of commendation to the three students from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

In order to be considered a commended student, students must place within the top 50,000 in the country in the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Over 1.5 million students entered the competition nationwide.

“We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success,” a spokesperson for the organization said.
