Tri-County Symphonic Band to perform concert of Broadway music

MARION — The Tri-County Symphonic Band, under the direction of Philip Sanborn, will present a concert featuring music written for “The Great White Way” entitled “Broadway Showstoppers” on Sunday, June 9.
Music from Broadway composers Richard Rodgers, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Lin-Manuel Miranda and more will be featured.
Show music from “Les Misérables,” “Hamilton,” “Into the Woods” and “Candide” will be among the thirty songs excerpted to round out the festive program.
Vocalist and actress Heather Corrigan — a Marion native and Tabor Academy graduate — will perform with the band.
The concert will be under the tent on the lawn next to the Fireman Performing Arts Center at Tabor Academy in Marion. Doors will open at 12 p.m. with light fare and a social hour at 1 p.m. The music starts at 2 p.m.
General admission tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Symphony Music Shop in North Dartmouth, the Marion General Store or online at tricountysymphonicband.org.
