Tri-Town public schools closed again, outages continue
Oct 28, 2021
The Old Rochester School District and Old Colony Vocational Technical High School cancelled classes for the second straight day on Thursday, Oct. 28 in the wake of Tuesday night’s nor’easter while Marion’s Tabor Academy reopened after taking Wednesday off.
The storm downed trees around the state leaving most Tri-Town residents without electricity as utility workers scramble to repair damaged power lines.
As of Thursday morning, Eversource’s outage map showed 98.4% of Marion residents, 81.6% of Rochester residents, and 68% of Mattapoisett residents still without electricity.
The town of Marion opened a warming and charging station at Sippican School on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
