MARION — Scouts and youth groups in the tri-town area will compete in the Soapbox Derby on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Scouting groups from all three towns, as well as St. Gabriel’s Youth, and other kids from Kindergarten to Grade 5 will race homemade cars down Holmes Street to see who built the fastest car.

There will be drop off locations for the Gifts to Give and Scouting for Food charities. Water and hotdogs will be served as refreshments.

The rain date for this event is Sunday Nov. 3.
