Sep 24, 2021

The Tri-Town saw a slight decline in new covid cases the week leading up to Sept. 23, but cases remain significantly higher than they were at their lowest this year.

While Mattapoisett saw a downward shift in cases from 17 to 11, Marion and Rochester each recorded more new cases in the week leading up to Sept. 23. Marion shifted from eight to nine and Rochester from eight to 12.

For the third time in four weeks, the Tri-Town has reported a total of 30 cases or more.

The Old Rochester Regional School District reinstated its covid dashboard this week, and reported that there are two ongoing cases related to the district — one from Old Rochester Regional High School and the other from Sippican School.

Since the start of the school year, the district has reported 20 total cases.

State covid data is released every Thursday.
