The Mattapoisett Historical Society is going on an island getaway. Children and adults are invited to a day of island crafts and games as well as a taste of the tropics. Island artifacts from Mattapoisett’s whaling days when ships traveled the world will also be on display. Children must be accompanied by adults. The event is Thursday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
