The Rochester Historical Society and the Rochester Land Trust are co-sponsoring a photo contest on the “Fields, Forests or Bogs of Rochester” The contest is open to photographers of any age from any town, but the pictures must be taken in Rochester.

Each entrant is allowed to submit one 5 by 7 photo in black and white or color. The photos should not be photoshopped, matted or framed.

The back of the photo should be labeled with the name of person submitting, their address, phone number, age bracket (“youth” for participants 18 and under or adult for participants 19 and over) and the location of photograph.

All photographs must be received by August 1. The photographs will be on display at the Rochester Historical Society and Land Trust booths at the Country Fair, where attendees will vote for the winner. Voting will end at 1 p.m. on Sunday August 11.

Prizes will be awarded for top three winners in each group. The first place prize is $75, the second place prize $50 and the third third place prize $25. The Rochester Historical Society and Rochester Land Trust will not return the photos.
