Two ORR students to compete in Outstanding Teen Pageant
The 17th annual Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen Pageant is Sunday, April 3 at 4 p.m. at the Keith Middle School in New Bedford, and will feature Camryn Morais and Tori Brulport of Old Rochester Regional High School.
The pageant features Alexandra Berube of Methuen, Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen 2015 and 11 talented teenagers from across the Commonwealth. They will compete for scholarship money and the opportunity to represent Massachusetts at the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Florida in August.
The show will feature performances by Berube, the Spotlight Dance Studio of Taunton dancers and the contestants.
16-year-old Morais' talent is vocal and her platform is Mirror Babble, focused on self acceptance. Brulport, 14 will also display vocal talent and her platform is raising awareness in volunteering in youth.
The pageant is the official state preliminary for the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen program. The mission of the MAOTeen organization is to promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America’s teens. The competition is open to young ladies 13-17 years of age, and they will be judged on personal interview, talent, scholastic achievement, evening wear and onstage question and lifestyle and fitness.
General Admission is $20 for adults $15 for seniors and $10 for children 10 and under. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door by cash or check only. Tickets for the Meet & Greet with Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Allie Nault are also available for purchase at $10. Pageant guests who purchase tickets for both the pageant and the Meet & Greet will receive special preferred VIP seating in the theatre for the show.
