Tyler Macallister rings in final day of Select Board, pursues Congress
MATTAPOISETT — Running for Congress, Chair of the Select Board Tyler Macallister rang in his last Select Board meeting on Tuesday, April 28.
Macallister is leaving the Select Board to run for Massachusett’s 9th Congressional District. He will be running as a Republican against Democrat Bill Keating.
The 9th Congressional District covers Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes, Nantucket, Norfolk and Plymouth County.
Macallister has lived in Mattapoisett since 2001 and served in municipal positions for over 20 years.
Macallister announced at the end of the Tuesday Select Board meeting it was going to be his last. He emphasized that the town is in a “great position” thanks to the department heads and hard work of those in town government.
“I want to thank everybody for all these years of representing you and the support I've gotten throughout those years,” Macallister said.
