Nov 26, 2018

The Council on Aging in Marion has a variety of activities scheduled for December, including a trip to an art museum and a ham radio workshop.

How can essential oils enhance life? Find out at a workshop hosted by the COA on Dec. 10 at 12:30 p.m. Hosted by Pam Smith, the workshop will focus on the history and methods of extraction of essential oils, and participants will leave the event with recipes.

On Dec. 18, a seminar will be given about the Ham radio — the original social network — and will be lead by retired Navy Electronics Technician Chief Petty Officer Fred Bacon. The event begins at 10 a.m. and will also feature coffee and pastries.

There are also two day trips slated for the coming weeks. On Dec. 4, the trip will take participants to the Cape Cod Mall, Trader Joes and Christmas Tree Shops. The trip kicks off at 9:30 a.m. and then the first stop will be the mall, where there will be a chance for lunch.

On January 3, at 9:30 a.m., participants will trek to RISP for an art and design museum visit. Cost of admission is $12 and there will be a chance for lunch at the Cafe Pearl. To sign up beginning on Dec. 20, call 508-748-3570.
