UPDATED: Marion Police seek information after seriously injured man found on Route 6

A 35-year-old Wareham man was found lying on Route 6 late Friday night with what Marion Police say are serious injuries that may have been sustained when he was struck by a vehicle.

Marion Police and state officials are seeking any information witnesses or others may have on the situation.

According to police, the victim, Nathan Andrade of Wareham, was found by passing motorists just before midnight in the roadway on Route 6, just east of the Point Road intersection.

Marion Police and Marion Fire/EMS responded to the scene. Andrade was transported to Tobey Hospital in Wareham. He was later taken by Med Flight helicopter to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. As of Monday, Andrade was still being treated for injuries in Boston, according to police reports.

The investigation is being led by Det. Scott Smith and Sgt. Marshall Sadeck of the Marion Police Department, the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
