MARION — An 80-year-old Marion woman who was reported missing on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 28 was found dead later in the day, according to the Marion Police Department. 

No foul play is suspected, reported police.

According to Marion Police Department Lieutenant Jeffrey Habicht, additional information such as the woman’s identity, cause of death, and where she was found, is not available at this time.  

According to police, she left a home on upper Main Street between the hours of 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27 and 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28.  

In a series of Facebook posts, the Marion Police Department asked residents to check camera footage between the hours she was reported missing and to report any sightings to the police. Residents were also asked to check any and all sheds, buildings, yards and vehicles.
