Village Scoop hosting car show

Oct 13, 2011

Cool cars, hot food and Toys for Tots are coming to Village Scoop, 20 County Rd., for the Downshifters Car Club's "Fall Autumn Cruise" Sunday, Oct. 23.

This event will be a fundraiser for Toys for Tots, and bringing an unwrapped toy as a donation is encouraged.

The Downshifters Car Club was formed in Brooklyn, NY in 1959.   Today the New England chapter has about 200 members including one of the founding members, DJ Johnny Angel.  As a retired member of law enforcement, Johnny and his fellow members host these cruise events as fundraisers for such foundations as "A Wish Come True" and the "Share Foundation."

Village Scoop  will be open during the cruise and will be offering  specials such as kale soup, fried chicken dinners, and clam boils along with some of the freshest seafood and Angus beef burgers in the area.  After lunch,  soft serve ice cream and award-winning Gifford’s ice cream will be available.
