MATTAPOISETT — The water main pipe near Holly Woods Road in East Mattapoisett has been repaired after it ruptured on the morning of Wednesday, July 20.

According to the Mattapoisett town website, residents in the area may have experienced interruptions to their water service and discolored water for a few hours.

The Mattapoisett Water and Sewer department was at the site to repair the rupture on July 20 according to the Mattapoisett town website.

According to Mattapoisett Water and Sewer department superintendent Henri Renauld, the cause of the rupture was aging infrastructure. 

“The Town of Mattapoisett has been actively replacing aging lines in the center of our community and also has a variety of repair parts in stock for such events,” said Renauld.
