MARION - The Gleason Family YMCA hosted its signature fundraising event at the Marion Music Hall on Friday night, with a goal to raise at least $112,000.

“We should hit and exceed that goal here tonight,” Senior Executive Director Debbie Fringuelli said.

The Toast of the Coast event has been going on for about 14 years, and features wine tasting, a variety of food options, a live auction and a silent auction. This year, Fringuelli said the live auction items were better than ever.

“There’s a handcrafted a table, jewelry, tickets to Hamilton in Boston,” she said. “The donations make it happen.”

The fundraiser relies on donations for everything from auction items to food, as a way to minimize overhead costs.

“All the money goes to provide scholarships to families,” Fringuelli said.

The money raised will go toward financial assistance for membership, programs, and summer camp for those who could otherwise not afford it.
