MARION — The Sippican Woman’s Club has thought of a new fundraiser that will start with a pile of oars and end with a silent auction to benefit scholarship awardees. Last year, the woman’s club was able to raise $13,000 for its scholarship fund. 

The Old Rochester Regional High School art teachers will help students to turn the oars into personalized art projects, each signed by a student. The oars will be displayed around Marion for a time, then sold at auction. 

The Sippican Woman’s Club is looking for old oars or canoe paddles for the fundraiser.  To donate an oar, contact info@SippicanWomansClub.org
