Work moving along on condemned Marion home

MARION — At a Dec. 14 Board of Health meeting, Health Agent David Flaherty said contractor work at the condemned home at 464 Front Street is moving the property towards compliance.

He said they’ve made advancements in clearing the garbage and debris on the front lawn of the home, and as for compliance, “it seems that that’s the sort of direction they’re taking.”

Flaherty was able to take a look inside the living room and bathroom of the home and said those spaces looked better.

He is now working with Building Commissioner Scott Shippy to ensure that all the work at the house is permitted.

The extension for improvement on the house, which is owned by Lauren Fisher and is known to be the site of years of animal abuse, is good through early January.
