Yoga, art festival and more at the Marion Art Center
Marion– The Marion Art Center will run a new session of Yoga at the in May with instructor Elke Pierre, owner of Marion Yoga Loft.
Pierre uses uses clear language to help students find safe alignment and to notice how this affects the busy mind.
This is a slow-moving practice with the goal of reducing tension in the body to relax the mind.
Classes will meet on Tuesday mornings for four weeks in the Marion Art Center’s Patsy Francis Gallery.
Students can sign up for all four sessions or choose from four dates and should bring a mat and blanket.
The cost for members is $20 per session or $70 for all 4 weeks; the cost for nonmembers is $25 per session or $85 for all 4 weeks.

Art historian Jill Sanford will present two more Art for Your Mind lectures.Art for Your Mind is an engaging, educational, art observation experience designed to broaden the minds of its participants.
Presentations are for people of all backgrounds– artists and non-artists alike.
Jill will present American Art Explored on Thursday, May 18 from 1 to 2 p.m in the Anne Braitmayer Webb Theater.
Learn about landscapes old and new on Thursday, June 22 from 1 to 2 p.m.
Tickets for each presentation are just $5 for members and $8 for nonmembers. Register for both to save $1 on each.
Art in Bloom will return for a three day festival from June 22 to June 24.A reception will be held on Thursday, June 22 from 5-7p.m.
The MAC will host several events over the three day period.
Anyone is invited to create an arrangement for Art in Bloom, and designers may work in pairs or teams. Designers may visit the Marion Art Center from May 12 to June 21 to view the exhibit featuring paintings by Anne Carrozza Remick and Stephen Remick.
Choose one of the works on display to inspire your artistic floral creation.
All arrangements must be delivered to the Marion Art Center no later than Thursday, June 22 at
12:00 p.m.
Meagan Souza will host an artful flower pressing with on Saturday, June 24, from 10 a.m to 12:30 p.m.
Tickets will cost $35 for members and $40 for nonmembers.
