Homecoming win gives Bulldogs undefeated regular season

Oct 26, 2013

Old Rochester Regional football will stop at no cost in their pursuit for perfection and remain undefeated following Friday night’s homecoming game.

Head coach Henry Quinlan reflected on the win: “Our team played good. We showed a lot of character, which did enough to win the game. Seekonk is physical, but we did good enough to win.”

Coach Quinlan lauded quarterback Nolan Bergeron for his performance on the field during the game. “Nolan really led the team tonight. He played tough.”

Quinlan also mentioned Zach Bowen for playing a full game, and doing a wonderful job.

“Although one of the referees flagged me after a foul,” Quinlan said and laughed, “The team responded really well. The poise of these kids tonight was amazing; they responded tremendously.”

Friday night marked the end of the regular season for the football team, who beat Seekonk 31-14. This game helped add more points towards the team going into the state championships.

Although granted a spot at the state championships, Quinlan says that the team needs to focus on handling pressure on the defense and minimizing mistakes.

The Old Rochester Regional football team will take on their first game in the state championship tournament next week.
