Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race ham and bean supper

May 20, 2014

The Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race ham and bean supper will be held Saturday, May 24 at Rochester Memorial School, 16 Pine Street. The supper will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at the door. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12. The menu is beans, coleslaw and potato salad prepared by the Culinary Arts Department at Old Colony Vocational Technical High School and apple crisp prepared by Meredith of the Artisan Kitchen. Proceeds from the supper help offset the expenses of the race.

This is the 80th anniversary of the race and it remains one of the few racing events with no entry fees as it was in 1934 when it was started. Park at the rear of the school and enter at the rear door. For additional information, contact race Chair Arthur Benner at 508-763-2024.
