Marion Town Party delivered family fun
Aug 23, 2014
It’s been known as Marigold Days, the Marion Block Party and other names through the years. But whatever it’s called, the late August party in front of the Marion Town House always delivers family fun.
Held since 1880, this year’s Marion Town Party was no different. A climbing wall, bounce houses, bake sale, bonfire and more activities were available for families.
The Marion Recreation Department, Firefighter’s Association and Police Brotherhood sponsored the event. Proceeds from the sale of refreshments went to the Recreation Department and the Firefighters Association.
Festivities began at 4 p.m. and lasted into the evening when a large bonfire was lit on the baseball field behind the Town House.
