Marion Coldwell Banker office to support charity golf tournament

Aug 27, 2015

The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Marion is supporting, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares, the company’s charitable foundation, as it hosts a golf tournament to benefit Lucy’s Love Bus on Sept. 22 at the Wedgewood Pines Country Club in Stow.

Lucy’s Love Bus is a Boston-based nonprofit organization which strives to deliver comfort and quality of life to pediatric cancer patients by providing funds for free integrative therapies such as massage, acupuncture, art therapy and therapeutic horseback riding.

Lucy’s Love Bus was started by Lucy Grogan, who was 8 years old when she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. When Lucy was 11, she told her mother that when she was “done with cancer” she wanted to start a program that would provide free integrative therapies to all children with cancer to help manage the side effects and late effects of traditional cancer treatment. Lucy succumbed to her illness but her legacy lives on. Since 2006, Lucy’s Love Bus has been able to assist more than 300 children with cancer.

The golf tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. A cocktail reception, dinner and auction will follow starting at 3:30 p.m. The Wedgewood Pines Country Club is located at 215 Harvard Road in Stow.
